This Privacy Policy explains how TradeBuddy AI (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use TradeBuddy AI (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to this policy.

Your data at a glance

A plain-English summary of what TradeBuddy AI uses (the sections below have full detail):

  • Data linked to you — your email, display name, bio, avatar, trade journal entries, strategies, screenshots you upload, AI coach conversations, community posts, notifications, and your plan/subscription status.
  • Financial information — payments are processed entirely by Stripe (or Apple/Google on mobile). We never see or store your card number, bank details, or billing address. We only store which plan you're on and its status. We never access your brokerage or trading accounts — the app has no connection to them; you type your trades in yourself.
  • Contacts — we never access, request, or store your contacts.
  • Data used to track you — none. No advertising trackers, no cross-site or cross-app tracking, no selling or sharing of data with data brokers. We keep basic first-party server logs (e.g. errors, request counts) solely for security and reliability.
  • Data we do NOT collect — precise location, contacts, photos (beyond images you explicitly upload), microphone, biometrics, browsing history.

1. Information we collect

  • Account data — your email address and authentication details (passwords are managed and encrypted by our authentication provider; we never see your plaintext password).
  • Profile data — optional display name, bio, and avatar you choose to add.
  • Trading data you enter — journal entries, trades, strategies, notes, emotions, screenshots, and related content you upload.
  • AI interactions — messages and images you submit to the AI coach/analyzer, processed to generate responses.
  • Payment data — handled entirely by our payment processor (Stripe). We store your plan and subscription status, but never your full card number.
  • Usage & device data — basic logs, app analytics, and technical data (e.g. browser type) used to keep the Service secure and reliable.

2. How we use your information

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service and its features.
  • Generate AI analysis, coaching, reports, and analytics from the data you enter.
  • Process subscriptions, trials, and billing.
  • Communicate with you about your account, security, and updates.
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and technical issues.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. Third-party service providers (sub-processors)

We share data only with providers that help us run the Service, under their own privacy and security terms:

  • Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage.
  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
  • OpenAI — powering the AI coach and trade analyzer (your prompts/images are sent to generate responses).
  • Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
  • Market-data/news providers — to display market news (no personal data is shared).

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Legal bases (GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies, we process data to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), for our legitimate interests (improving and securing the Service), to comply with the law, and with your consent where required.

5. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your content at any time, and you can delete your account and all associated personal data yourself from Edit profile → Danger zone. We may retain limited records where required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise the two most important rights directly in the app at any time, no request needed: Edit profile → Your data → Download my data gives you a full copy of your data as JSON, and Edit profile → Danger zone permanently deletes your account and data. 7. Security

We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own (including where our providers operate). We rely on our providers’ safeguards for such transfers.

9. Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Cookies & local storage

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences (such as theme and install status). We do not use them for third-party advertising.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by notice within the Service.
